My period is over 2 weeks late so I took a home pregnancy test and it came out positive. I was surprised because during the time that I was supposed to get my period I got cramping and would get a bloody discharge following the cramping. It feels like my period is coming, is that a common symptom of early pregnancy? Please help

It could just be a symptom of early pregnancy, but I've read that if there's a lot of blood and cramping then you could be having a miscarriage...

Many women will feel as though their period is about to come on in early pregnancy. As LynRose said, some spotting or bleeding can be normal, causing some women to mistaken it for an off period. Bright red bleeding, with severe cramping, would be more of a concern.
