How can I make a top class pizza

As far as I'm concerned... its not going to happen without a wood fired pizza oven.

I've had too many GREAT pizzas in Italy so I'm biased. (not every pizza in Italy is good much less great as a way to frame what great is)

It's a skill that people spend years perfecting while doing nothing else.

Couple tips... don't over season... a great pizza is about Balance and subtlety. You can taste every ingredient, and none overpower the others. They have to be fresh... and they have to be right. If the dough isn't just right... nothing can cover it up.

Pizza Hut, Pappa Johns... and Dominos... aren't great Pizzas (I don't even rate them as good).

Since we all don't have wood burning ovens, I have found that I can get a darn good crust on my outdoor grill.:)

Like Just Dahlia said - the bbq is a great way to cook pizza - my sister actually takes the bottom portion of a terra cota planter (the part that looks like a saucer) - turns it upside down, and puts that on the bbq with the pizza cooking on top of it - creative and delicious!

Grilling is the way to go for a special pizza. It takes some playing around with to really find out what you like and don't like about it... but really adds a unique taste.
