Can I fly out of country with a bench warrant for unpaid parking tickets?
    Hello all...

I have a bench warrant for my arrest due to some unpaid parking tickets (that piled up to a good chunk of $$) and I have to fly to Greece for my sister's wedding in about a month and I just don't think id be able to raise the cash to get the warrant taken care of... so my question is... if I fly out of Newark, NJ to Athens, Greece do you think they would see the warrant upon running my passport? They are only parking tickets and I have no other criminal history or record. Not to sound all whatever but I'm also a white female in my mid 20's from north NJ with no criminal record if that would factor into anything? And if they do let me leave do you think there would be an issue coming home?. I HAVE to get to Greece my sister will KILL me lol.

    Thanks all!

"They" aren't going to "run" your passport until you try to come back.

I'd comment, but the other 20-something females, &/or Jerseyites on this forum would put out a contract on me. ;)

Then get her to loan you enough to get the tickets paid.

    Hello r:

In my view, if TSA are doing their job, they KNOW who everybody is in their airport...

You say, it's ONLY parking tickets, but when a COP sees a WARRANT out for an individual, they don't think "parking tickets", they think "BUST, and I get to do it".

You may be able to leave on the plane but your chances of getting back into this country without any kind of computer check is nil. A warrant is a warrant regardless what it is for. In the eyes of the law and the judge you can't dither around. The judge is upset you didn't pay so he issued a warrant. Try to reason with an irate judge in court will only land you in jail.

I really should give you a reddie on this one but seeing as you are new, I won't. Please explain your answer why you think the OP can fly out of the country with an outstanding warrant.
