    J1 and extra income
    Hi,

I was in 2010 interning (J1 visa) for 6 months. I got some 1099 income and an extra income from someone I don't have SSN.

How should I fill my tax? (1099 and extra income)
    I am an NR.

    Thank you so much.
    Ben

    Ben:

You need to file Form 1040NR with a Schedule C and possibly Form 2106, plus Form W-7 to get an ITIN.

I AM a bit surpirsed you did not get a SSN; most interns qualify for SSN based on their intern status.
