Hi we took over car payments from a friend in Jul 2010. Now they are getting a divorce and they want the veh back.We never skipped a payment. The wife started to threten us by saying she is going to reportn the veh stolen. What can we do? Are we going to loose all payments made? Please help. Jacky

If you did not change the vehicle ownership to your name, then yes: you may have learned a hard lesson.

The bank does not care where the payments come from. If they are still the legal owner of the vehicle, then you should return it to them.

Did you, by chance, get them to sign the Title of the vehicle over to you when you started making the payments for it?
