I will be quiting my job on Friday, which will be a weeks notice. And I believe my employer will be cutting my wages back to minimum wage. I would like to know if this legal or not. Can you please help?

Yes, as long as your employer tells you, before you work the hours, how much you will be paid per hour, the employer can do that.

This assumes, of course, that you have no employment contract and are not represented by a union.

The practice of giving two-week notice is simply a courtesy employees customarily extend to their employers. You are not required to do so, but if you don't you probably shouldn't expect a glowing letter of reference from your employer.

    Hello P:

Once you give notice, he can reduce your pay for the time you have left. He CANNOT go back and reduce your wages for work you already did. If he tries it, sue him in small claims court.
