if you have 3 white tiles, 3 gray tiles, and 3 striped tiles what is the probability of picking a gray tile and then picking a white tile?
What's the formula for this?.
How would you approach it.

Thanks so much for your help I did try but could not get the answer that was one of the multiple choice answers I got 1/8 if it is without replacement which it does not say thanks for nothing
Well, the way to get this is:
Probability to get 1 grey tile: 3/9 = 1/3
there are 3 grey tiles and 9 tiles to pick from.
Then, the probability to get 1 white tile = 3/8
there are 3 white tiles and 8 tiles left total.
The net probability is 1/3 * 3/8 = 1/8
Which means, your answer is correct :)
