Carrier Edge Thermostat Never Reaches Set Temperature
I have a Carrier Edge Programmable Thermostat that never reaches the desired temperature it is set to. We have our heat set at 68 F and the thermostat will only reach 67 F. I live in a brand new home and know that the thermostat should be able to reach the desired temperature. The weird thing is is when I turn the heat on the temperature jumps up at 2 degrees so it would go from 67 to reading 68 or 69. Then when the house gets cold again and we turn the heat back on the temperature will drop 2 degrees from what it was reading. Ex if it was reading 65 and then we turn the heat on the temperature will read 63.

Can anybody help fix this problem I am having? My Gas and Electric bills are way to high for a new home because our heat never shuts off unless I turn it off because it never reaches the set temperature.

Please let me know if you have any suggestions.

    Thanks,

Actually, 1 degree is not that bad. However, I'd be more concerned as to why the heater can't heat the house properly. If your ductwork goes through the attic, make sure all piping is connected. Getting good airflow? Changed the filter? Pull down stairway to attic? They are notorious for leaks.

The edge thermostat has a good warranty. Get it replaced. They had a recall on certain serial # for this reason.
