10 days ago my fiancé and I had sex ofcoarse we used protection but I'm not on the pill. 2 days later I caught a stomach virus from my sister. I did not use anti-biotics. But now I'm scared because my period is late. My periods are usually predictable. Ive never missed one since I've began menstrating. Could I be pregnant or could the virus be delaying my period. I haven't tried anything cause I don't know what to do

First, I want to tell u.. I am not a doctor . But I know about it because I am interested in medicine and studying right now.

I think it does not matter for you if you are in pregnant or not because he is your fiancé... One day you will marry him,right?

The menstruation and stomachache is not related.. don't care about it...

My suggestion is that you should tell your fiancé about that... If he really love you, he will welcome about your future pregnant because of his pregnant...

Then you should not be engaging in sexual intercourse. NO ONE should be doing that until they are physically, emotionally and financially prepared to have a child.

The likelihood is that a the virus may be disrupting your period. But there is no way for ANYONE to know. What you can do, is wait another few weeks. If your period still hasn't come then take a home pregnancy test.

How late is late? It may be due to the illness, it may simply be that your period is off this cycle and will show up late, you may even skip a cycle now and then. Remember that no birth control is 100% effective, so pregnancy will always be a possibility when you have sex.

As ScottGem said, give it a bit more time... if still no period, try a pregnancy test. If it is negative, see what happens when your period would be due next month.

As you should well know, since you are old enough to be engaged and you are having sex. No form of birth control is 100 percent, if your protection is condoms the normal stats are they have a 3 percent failure rate when used as told. And about a 10 percent failure rate over all since many do not use properly.

So if you are having sex, of course you could be pregnant
