The odometer is the set of number on your dashboard of your car... it counts how many miles you've driven

The odometer is not a set of numbers. It's actually an electronic instrument that counts the miles a vehicle is driven.

You are saying that an odometer IS a set of numbers?

No, I was building off your answer, and saying that the vehicle does not necessarily need to be driven for the odometer to count upwards (e.g. turning your engine off whilst going downhill), and that readings are not always in miles.
