I have a 3 yr old daughtere to my ex partner, my daughters surname is Dxxxxx on her birth certificate but I have just found out that her mother has my daughter registered at her school and doctors and everywhere else as Young which is her surname. Is this legal and do I have any rights to stop this??

    Thanks

It may or may not be legal.

What State? Has she changed the birth certificate?

If you want to "stop this" you would have to file a Petition with the Court and state that this use of a second name is confusing and/or harmful to your daughter in some way.

What paperwork did the mother use to enroll the child?

She should be required in actual school, I not daycare, to use the name on the birth certificate. So unless she went and had it legally changed, she will merely have to use the real name when she starts first grade. Also there may be issues when she files for insurance, if the doctors records are in another name.

I am surprised the schools are allowing this. Usually it has to be what's on the birth certificate unless she has told them something bad.I definitely would check on that because I know that your daughter will be confused when she gets older. I was raised under another name it was my step fathers last name while my birth certificate had my real last name.so I had to change back when I went to get my drivers license and was a real pain to have a whole new last name for me to write and tell all my friends that knew me under the other.
