I'm 17 and in love with a 23 year old and he loves me back but my dad hates him with a passion all I want is to be happy but my dad won't let me what should I do?

Listen to your dad sounds good to me, since he is most likely trying to protect you.

Some can depend on where, but in general you can do nothing till you are 18 and can't even see or date him if your dad says no

Why does your dad 'hate' him? Does he have reasons for such a strong feeling?

Have you actually listened to your father or just dismissed his feelings because you know what you want?

Your dad is trying to protect you from yourself because some things that make you happy now, make you mighty unhappy later.

Listen to your dad and obey his wishes because in a year or so, you can do as you please, and be as happy as you want to.

He is just doing his job.
