Ablation is a quick outpatient procedure for women who have painful menstruation with a lot of bleeding. Do not consider this treatment if you plan on more pregnancies.

I know you are asking about the benefits, and with the ablation you will not have heavy menstrual flow, having your tubes tied will not allow you to have any more children.

Its up to you and a discussion with your gyno.

Has your doctor determined whether a cause for the horrible periods can be found? Depending on the reason, if one can be found, an ablation may or may not be an option.

An ablation will often help with severe/frequent bleeding, but you can still have some bleeding now and then. It most often will effect your ability to have anymore children. A tubal will not stop your periods, as it only is meant to prevent pregnancy.
