    Commit daughter
I have the same problem with a daughter whose great mind has been destroyed by chemicals in the legal & illegal drugs she has taken. She needs to be pretty placed in supervised care, permanently. Where do we go?

First its not a good idea to piggyback your question on someone else's. This can lead to confusion. You should start a new thread. So I've moved your question to its own thread.

You start by asking your physician. They can advise you of institutions to contact.

Permanently? You know this how? The brain under 30 has great capacity to channel around damaged areas. In fact, that age is based on older studies, and newer ones find even more evidence of the ability at older ages too.

'Committing' someone in the US generally means a hospital, and hospitals generally have 3 day (voluntary) and 15 day (involuntary) commitments. If you mean a group home with medical staff and other aides, many of those exist, if you want to tell us where you are.
