You know your dog better than I. Most dogs would resist having anything put on the foot to immobilize it. Best just try to keep it quiet until you can get it to a vet. You could try giving it a little aspirin, but getting the dosages small enough will be tough. At 5 mg per pound of the dog's weight, that would only be 50 mg for a 10 pound dog. A regular tablet is 325 mg. Even a quarter of one would be too much. You might try cutting down a baby aspirin. The label should give what each tablet contains. If you aren't sure about the dosage, better not give it at all. Don't give it anything else. The newer stuff, Advil, Tylenol, etc. is dangerous to dogs.

Best thing is to get it to the vet as soon as you can. If you do give it aspirin, tell the vet. Withhold food. It will throw up if the vet has to put it under.
