I have a situation similar to this with my Kohler 3 knob faucet system:

I replaced the whole stem for the hot water and adjusted it so it isn't leaking but my wife went to take a shower and asked how far she needed to turn the handle to know it was off. I am wondering if I have forgotten to do something (hopefully simple) so the hot water has a definite 'stop' point. I appreciate any help anyone can provide.

I called the place where I bought the part and told them what was going on. They said it sounded like I just didn't have the stem assembly tightened enough in the wall.
