How do I fix the large gap at the end of my tub?
I installed a new tub and there is a 1" gap at the end of my tub. The plumbing is already done so I can't move it. I am going to tile and I don't know how to fill the gap. I have to install my own tub flange which I haven't done yet until I figure out this problem. I can't afford to lose an inch so I can't build out the whole wall. If I build out the wall at the top of the tub, how do I put a tile on with an angle like this /.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No I couldn't return the tub. If I build out the wall I will have to take everything down off that wall and loose and 1" of bathroom and I don't have much room to work with. Is there anything elce I may be able to do to make it work?

I would be interested in hearing about the plenty of things I can do. Let me understand what you are telling me to do. Bring the wall out at the end of the tub (not plumbing end) then set a step at the end. The wall won't be flush so I cap it off with some tile? It's only going to be at one end because I don't have enough space to do it at the other end to balance. Won't that look silly? I appreciate any help you can give me.
Thanks,, Kelly
