    Computer questions answered?
I have been getting the following message during my start up: (cipaauthclient.exe. Has encountered a problem and needs to close). I have no clue why I have started seeing this message when I boot up. I have had this laptop for 6 years and have never seen this message before. What do I need to do to correct this problem? Thanks for your time and expertise. Richard

Is this something you have installed or was installed by your company on your laptop?

It appears to be a firewall control program and filter.

CIPAFilter | CIPA Internet Filtering Appliance

It may be expired and no longer working properly. If it is something installed on your laptop then its going to need to be reinstalled.

    I agree with user 'califdadof3.

Adding to that, just check their website for a patch of software update.

If this computer is your home and not a office PC and you experience just this error and no other problems at all then you can just stop this program from starting up. You see, this program is anyway not running and is not needed. It's just being annoying.
Open the run dialogue (Press the windows Key and letter R as the same time) and type in - msconfig.
Check under 'Startup, search for the specific item and uncheck it's box. Restart and it should be OK.

If this file is nessacesary and update don't work, try setting the file to run as an administrator.

Find the application's location and Right Click on the application icon and select properties. Now go to the compatibility tab and select 'Run this program as an administrator. Do a windows search for that exact file name. If you can't find it.

    Hope this helps :)
    Cheers
