Before I had my baby I had very very regular periods.. now its been 10 months since I had my baby and I'm having quite irregular periods.. last month it was 5 days late and this month it was 6 days early.. is this normal?

Yes, it's normal. Many women, probably most, find that after a baby, their periods go a bit haywire, either longer or shorter, and less regular than before. They will eventually settle down, but for now, be prepared for them to be a bit weird.
