I am a french student and I did a 4 months internship in the United States (New York City) in 2010 with a J-1 Visa. I am now staying in Brazil and I have to fill out my tax refund forms for 2010.Given The fiscal Treaty between France and the U.S. can you please tell me which forms I need to fill out and how can I do this while I am not physically in the US.My total wages was just 4600$ and my internship actually cost me more money than I earned so I really can't afford services of professionals. Can you please help me out with this?

You would need to file a 1040NR or 1040NR-EZ form.
You would need to mail these forms in.
What tax forms did you get you're the payment? A 1042S? If yes, what's the income code in box 1?

You should also fill out a form 8843 for exempt individuals.
