I have to pay taxes to the IRS from Norway. It's a rather large amount that I owe for taking a full withdrawal from my 401k. Instructions for the 1040NR form says I can pay by check or money order. We stopped using personal checks in Norway many years ago. I may be able to get a check from my Norwegian bank, but will the IRS accept it?

To pay using the EFTPS I have to enter a us phone number and a US bank account. I no longer have that.

Is it safe to use websites like, Pay1040.com, and pay by debit/credit card?

Is it possible to do a wire transfere to the IRS?

I would suggest you contact the IRS and get the answer to your questions from them. I realize you are in Norway but emails work to the IRS too.
