It can vary. Some women are only required to wear Hijaab. Others are required to wear the veil. And still others are required to wear Niqab. It depends on your specific islamic faith, your location, your husband/fathers desire. And many other factors.

May I have more details on what you are asking and why?

For example, I am an american, white Revert. And it is not culturally required of me to wear Hijaab. But when with my islam sisters, or islamic men, I wear it. When I go to see my Imam, I wear it. But when I am at work, or at home, or around other western americans who are not muslim, I am not required to wear it. Though I choose to often, except at work as I work in a hospital and it can hinder my work.
