I was notified that the state franchise tax board in California has put a lien on my cd that I have an a California bank and took 2500 out of it. They say I owe taxes for 07,08,09,and 10 (ive been living in Texas since April 2010) I shut my pool buissness down jan 2008 and it basically went under in 2007 Dec after the fire storms in san diego. I will call them tomorrow.
My question can they garnish my pay here in Texas? I moved here to start over and want to clean up my back taxes,but I need to be able to do it in a way I can survive,from what I've seen and read I believe I'm OK to a point but I've seen no direct answer.
