First I would like to thank you for the answers, they helped me to solve my problem. But a new one emerged.
I am on J1 visa, my spouse is on J2 with work permission and income. He came in 2009. He has filled form 1040 NR for 2009 and 2010, but without form 8843. As far as I understood from the topics here, it is not a problem to send it a year later, but we cannot figure out how to fill it. There is a Part II, which is for teacher, trainee, researchers, but he is not. Should he fill out this Part II and if yes, how to indicate that he is a J2 holder and spouse of the J1 visa holder? Should he write my name somewhere, too?
