i have heard many differences between paver patio's and cement. The obvious include with cement, it can crack over time and also sink and expand with the changing tempuratures. When that happens, it looks horrible and the whole slab needs to be replaced. Pavers do not crack, more attractive but can have issues with weeds, can also "POP" out of place and need maintenance in the spring or it will end up being uneven. At first, i thought price would be an issue with most saying it would cost more labor-wise to have the pavers. My patio is only going to be 15x7 and pavers could actually cost less.

Please don't type in caps. Pavers work fine on a compacted base. Hit them with a rubber mallet to reseat them. In cold climates they will almost always pop up due to frost heave. They do drain water better. Put a weed barrier under the pavers and spray the cracks with Roundup. Rougher to walk on than concrete. How about stamped concrete? Hides the cracks well and concrete does not expand and contract that much, not in a 15X7 anyway. Properly installed, concrete will not exhibit many of the faults you describe. If it did, Home Depot buildings would be collapsing all over the place since they are tilt up concrete. Wood deck? Veranda?
