Our internet at work keeps going down and we can't figure out why. I don't think it's the router but the server. Sometimes I can get news feeds on Facebook but can't access anything else and sometimes my internet is completely down but my coworker can slowly do things. I would call someone to come look at it but we've had people before and no one can help. Anyone have any ideas?

I will add that we use Windows 2003 on the server

What kind of environment are you in? Is it a virtual environment? If not, then internet connectivity seldom has to do with any server. Is it everyone or certain areas? Certain times? Local outages (power, testing, weather related, etc.. ) Are you a branch location?


Have you spoken with your IT Department? What did they say?

More info is needed.

Also do you know what kind of connection your have coming in? Cable, DSL, T1 ?

We have DSL... I'm not an IT person so this is confusing. I wiggled the wire in the router and it seems to be working better now. Could it be a bad wire?
