I Haven't had a poo for 3 weeks and a few days!! (so almost a month)
I've tried literly everything to try un block my blockage so I went to the doctor and they gave me something to try help... nothing worked! So I went back today and I had my bottom examaned (finger went up rectum) and she had prepared and enemabut after she did put her finger in rectum she said she couldn't feel anything there! So didn't give me the enema! And she said your not constipaited ( she seemed really confused) and just told me to go home!? I'm really conserend because I ave every syptom of constipation! And now I just don't know what to do :'( and I'm not pregnant (just imcase)

Doesn't sound right... how could you have been eating for 3 weeks with nothing at all coming out the other end? A couple days... yes. But over three weeks?

There isn't that much capacity in the digestive tract.

You may want to elaborate into more detail... like have you been eating regularly or not and what.

Years my brother had an issue related to anesteasia (spelling) that shut down his digestive tract and in a couple days anything that went in came right back up because nothing was moving through the digestive tract. Resulted in an extended hospital stay and IV feeding for a few weeks until things started working again.

And an intestinal blockage (something life threatening) has very real symptoms you don't have. (have had relatives with that) J_9 knows that well however (her being in that line of work).


Still doesn't hurt to see a different doctor. You are out only the cost of the visit. And some of your time. And it might get you somewhere.

My son doesn't take medication nor does he have an intestinal blockage.

Rectal exams easily detect blockages. It would be interesting to know what medication the OP used to help alleviate this problem. I am in the process of bowel retraining my son. This can actually happen at any age for a variety of reasons.

The OP really should see a gastroenterologist for this.

I have this issue as well, my GI specialist said I have a "slow transit colon". Like J_9's son, I've had to retrain my colon. I have been taking two tablespoons of fiber daily, and for a while I was taking a dose of miralax daily. I've eased off the miralax and am now just taking fiber. That's the regimen MY doctor put me on, so to the OP-you should seek a specialist, and a second opinion from another GP.

My son is still taking Miralax daily and it seems to work, somewhat, for him.

Southamerica, is there any fiber that has no taste like Miralax? He's very picky and can taste anything mixed in his juice or water aside from Miralax.

Benefiber has no taste (for me). It's the priciest, but it sure beats Metamucil (blech). If he's already tried Benefiber and it doesn't work for him, then I guess his other option is he eat A LOT of fruits.
