    Air handler doesn't start
My air conditioning unit outside will be running, but the air handler in the garage will not start. I have to turn off the thermostat and turn it back on to get the handler to start. Is there a switch or valve on the handler that can be replaced? It is a Janitrol

Sound like could be loose wire at thermostat or bad stat not calling for fan operation. I would check with G terminal on Tstat which on most units is the fan lead. Make sure good connection. Next try switching Fan control at Tstat to ON. If air handler runs it would seem Tstat isn't telling air handler to run in cooling mode. If that is the case try putting new Tstat on. Brian

Try the fan in "ON" position, this is high speed /cool speed, if it works usually the fans good, to test the stat simply jump red to green and see if the fan runs then, that's all the stat is doing normally

Red is 24v power entering the tstat

    White is heat

    Yellow is cool

    Green is fan

Red to the rest is the mode desired, the auto switch is actually between the Yellow and Green so in Ac mode Yellow energizes the green for us, in heat mode its low speed and operated by a time and or temperature delay.

There may be a Common terminal on the tstat if its parasitically powered by the furnace as opposed to battery powered exclusively? Some are both the battery is back up memory, just never touch Red to Common!
