I am looking for some answers and/or guidance for a dear, new canadian friend. She has no one to turn to, and feels lost/alone in the situation I am about to describe to you. Canadian male married her in the Phillapines, of course going through all the proper steps to bring her to Canada { which took about one year }. She has only been here in Canada for 2 months so far. { lives with him, husband of course in his home }. It has come to light that he is pursuing others, sends money to another woman in another Country, etc, and is very "controlling" , saying things to her like " I will ship you back { deport}to the Phillapines , holds a threatening manner over her etc, and I don't know how to help her. He is much older than her { 25 years or more} and she is so kind, dear little thing, and is so scared right now! Can he actually do this, deport his wife ? Where can I get help for her ?

You are so kind. With evidences and witnesses, she may be qualified for abused spouse, but the process is not easy, she needs to consult experienced immigration attorney.

She does not have money. He certainly not going to give her monies! Is she considered immigrant ? We are in Ontario,Canada. They married a year ago. She has her social insurance number, health card and everything now. Will he be able to get her sent back ?
