    Drop in Water Pressure
My well pressure tank is Manufactured by XTROL, and it's two years old. I don't understand the following: If the Pressure is up to 50lbs and you open a faucet you can actually see the pressure drop. This is what I have done so far to try to correct the problem: The pressure tank is carrying 28 lbs of pressure in the Bladder. I have replaced the Pressure switch with a square D 30Lbs on and 50lbs off. I notice that when I drain the pressure tank with the discharge turned off (and the pump switch off as it's draining), when the gauge hits 30 lbs the hand drops to 0 and the water stops immediately. Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated!

    1. How large is your tank?
    2. Forget about the switch... that's not the problem.
    3. Do a volume test. Let the pump get up to 50# and shut off. Run water into a 5 gallon bucket until the switch clicks and the pump kicks back in. About how much water did you get before the pump turned back on?

    Come back with that info.
