I have a maytag fride that the fan has intermittently come off and on. The freezer on the top has stopped freezing and the fridge below has stopped retaining the cold. I believe the serial number is 3122335. I have unplugged and plugged back in and also pulled it from the wall. When we did that it started working (as in the fan kicked back on)It has not really cooled though. I think it is the compressor or freon. I need some help.

Which fan are you talking about that does not work? If it is the condenser fan the refrigerator will burn up if it does not work. You may need to clean out coils also on bottom of refrigerator. DrTom4444
