Underage marriage due to pregnancy in tx?
Hey I am 15 and I am pregnant and my boyfriend is 17. How can we get married in Texas without parental consent?

You have to petition the court for permission to marry. However, doing so may make your boyfriend liable to charges for having sex with a minor. Why can you not get your parent's consent?

Not likely. A court may grant permission, but its highly unlikely. Teen marriages, especially "shotgun" weddings have an extremely high failure rate.

Yes, if you do anything additional to make her mom and dad mad, they can have you arrested for having sex with a minor, and by the time you are out of jail with your new boyfriend bubba or Tex, she will no longer be a minor anyway

And let me guess---on top of being married (which you want to do just so your parents --hers AND yours-- can't tell you that you can't be together), you want to KEEP the child.

You know, the kid that neither of you planned, that neither of you has a job to support--hell, neither of you can support YOURSELVES, much less a baby! Do you know how much daycare is for the first 6 months? My husband and I are trying to figure out how to afford it, and we make nearly $100k a year!

How about you both forget marriage and take your asses down to an adoption agency and do what's right for the child?

PS--if you can't get parental permission, why in the WORLD would the courts let you get married?
