    Weil mclain boiler problems?
I would like to know why Weill McLain does not stand behind their products. We purchased a Ultra 230 Boiler in October 2009 and a Ultra Plus 80 Water Heater at the same time at a cost of $8302.66. Hooked both up and moved into our house in November 2009. The boiler stopped working April 9, 2010, had the repair man come out 4 times, replaced sensors, mother board and faulty gas valve. The boiler consumed 7671.3 litres of propane in 4 months 19 days at a cost of $6732.10. My House in 2 floors 24oo square feet. The boiler and hot water tank have not run since April 27, 2010. Weil McLain Canadian reps last response to me was My advice is to source another Boiler Technician. Do Not buy Weill McLain Products. They do not stand behind their product. I even contacted USA Weill McLain and they just sent the Canadian rep onto me. Regards Tracey

We have had outstanding support from Weil Mclain. Been installing them for years, and have installed many Ultras with little to no problems. When there was a problem, Weil Mclain is very good about tech support, as long as the unit was professionally installed, and the installer is the one working on the unit. The installer should also be standing behind their work and dealing with Weil Mclain, you shouldn't have to. If you installed the unit yourself, you most likely you will not get much help from Weil Mclain, as is the case with most brands that require the work to be done by a pro in order for the unit to be warrantied. I know it sucks, but that's the way it works. Try getting a reputable plumber that installs ultras to come see if they can't help you get some better help from Weil Mclain. Hope everything works out well for you. Good luck.

Thank You for the response. We had a plumber install the unit. We also had a Weil Mclain recommended repair guy come and try to fix the unit. He spoke directly to Weil McLain in Ontario, and he said that Weil McLain won't pay him for the warranty repairs and now he is not coming out anymore. We still have the last part sitting here tha needed to be rplaced to try and fix the problem, but we can't get a repair guy. We just don't know where to turn anymore. We live in British Columbia and can't get any help. As it stands right now, Weil McLain has wiped their hands of us.

I am truly sorry to hear your situation. Like I said, we have had outstanding support from weil mclain, but thank you for sharing your experience with them. I don't really have any good advice on the next step to take, but please do let us know if this gets resolved. Sounds like somebody is definitely dropping the ball. Good luck and take care.
