    First time felony in FLA
I am facing charges for felony battery. I have never been charged with a felony before or any other crime. Does anyone know what the chances of me going to jail are? I have a Notice to Appear for Early Resolution, what does that mean?

A notice to appear for early resolution means that the state is going to make you an offer. They will probably offer you probation since it is a first time offense. However, that being said, it is going to depend on the injuries substained by the victim in the case, and whether the victim wants to pursue the charges. The state will pick up the charges without a victim pressing them, but they would have a hard time bringing you to trial since you have to face your accusser in a trial. Do you have a PD? Ask your attorney if it is a good deal, or not. Sometimes if you don't take the first deal, they give you a better offer. You need to ask your attorney before pleading out to any felony that is going to brand you as a violent offender. Also, don't take probation just because you want to get it over and done with. Probation is very serious, and you can be violated for even a minor offense.
    Good Luck, and God Bless.
