    suicide inducing lyrics
    Hi

Being from South Africa, we do not put much down to lyrics. However I do believe that lyrics can influence your mind to a degree that you may do things that you would not normally do.

Suicide is a very touchy subject, because people who do commit suicide have to really be pushed over the edge of no return.

I reckon it must take a lot of guts or plain stupidity to carry out an act of suicide.

I have attended many autopsies on suicide victims and what always interest me is the reason," why"?

After reeading the police report and then the various statements by close friends and family memebers it always becomes quite evident in the end to the reason that pushed the person over the edge.

Suiside victems are already in that state of mind... And sometimes suisidal lyrics can push someone over the edge. But you cannot censor the music. Some suisidal people use this music to show them that they are not alone in that feeling, and the people writing the music use it as their outlet for those emotion.

Have you ever heard of My Chemical Romance? My kids are really into them and I like them too.
There music is stereotyped as making kids commit suiside when really their albums/lyrics are their journey of being really suisidal themselves to being saved.

And thinking of cases, I don't know if this is one but there was a 13 year old girl from england who committed suiside and all the bands she listen to were blamed. But loads of people rebeled against that. I think her name was Hannah Bond.

I believe that depressing music is more a magnet for kids that are already feeling that way. Like if you are depressed over a break up are you going to more likely listen to UB 40 or Air Supply?
