I had endomitriosis and had surgery 10 yrs ago. I am very anemic, again! I had back surgery for which had to be given a set of injections a month before to bring my blood level up high enough to have the surgery otherwise the doctor said I couln't have it done. For the past 3 months. I have been having heavy bleeding and huge blood clots during my menstral cycle. Today was worse... I have to be laying down otherwise the clots seem to be more while I walk or while I sit. It's so uncomfortable I have to keep going to the bathroom and changing pads every 20 min. I am laying down with 2 "overnight and extra protection" pads. Please advise, since I have to be in bed for this do you think I need to go to E.R? Also I've been reading up on this... can you tell me what a D & C is? I will greatly appreciate your prompt response. Is this all related? Thank you! / Worrywort

It sounds as though you may have a recurrence of your endometriosis. I don't think the ER is necessary at this point, but I would not leave it out of the picture just yet.

A D&C is a Dilation & Curettage. In layman's terms it means that they go into your uterus and scrape it clean so that you can start fresh. Many women go through this several times in their lives.
