Theft under $5000 charge,
I have been charged with $5000, for taking 3 products of clothing. (Of those 3 products was a pair of shoes I did not want but I was kind of peer pressured into it, stupid I know). And I have a court date next month, now I cannot afford a lawyer, but I have done the willing steps to make things right again.
The other day I called my manager to talk to her, not at the store obviously, we set up a time to talk, I told her I'm sorry, I was not thinking, and I wrote her an apology letter, and then she asked me to email her the same letter so she can forward it to the head office, in the letter I stated I would like to make full resitution, now if I pay back the $43 (it was $133, but I already gave back the shoes), will I be able to show I paid restitution on my first court date? Maybe bring the receipt with me?
Thank you!
