I'm getting married in a court house not a church how do I tell my family?
Im getting married soon by cour house. I haven't told my family yet. I don't know how to tell them that I'm getting married and its in a court house not a church. How do I tell them? My family always told me that when I get married it will be in the church like the rest of the family. My mom always said that there is no other way. As for my dad if he was still here he would be so sad and disappointed that it wouldn't be in a church. How do I tell my family.

So why are you ? Explain your reasons to them ?

Were they going to pay for it ?

Or why not a pastor at a park or at your home ( often a pastor at your home or park is cheaper than the judge at the court house

Not sure why you can't use a pastor, I have done them where myself and a rabbi were together and did it jointly. I have did a Muslim and Christian. So no you have not tried to use a pastor

Bottom line, it's your wedding, your marriage, and you're not going to make everyone happy, nor do you have to.

If they're upset and want a church wedding, let them pay for it. If they can't, or aren't willing to, then they have to accept what you're able to afford or what you want to do.

It's your day. Not everyone has a grand even. Having your wedding at a church doesn't make you any less married, so what's the issue?
