OK , to ask a question in "Adult Sexuality" you first need to state your age, if you don't the answer advice people need to ask their age for liability purposes. OK I understand the liability and legal implications. So how does that when everyone here migrates to the "Child & Teen Health" category? Just curious,more importantly GOD help us. Japans earthquake, tsunamis,aftershocks,What about their nuclear sites ? Hawaii,China's earthquake ,Did you see the waves traveling at 500 miles an hour ? GOD help us all, I'm not ready for judgment day.

The problem that happens when you bring religion into it is that not ALL of us are Christians. MY response to when people bring religion into talking about natural disasters is that maybe you're all worshipping the wrong God, and should switch to MY religion...

BUT--staying on topic for Adult Sexuality--if they are askign about sex and are a teen, then they SHOULD be asking in Teen Health. I don't know the standard practice there, but MY response to an underage person asking about sex in a place other than Adult Sexuality is to talk to your parents first, then your doctor. If you can't talk to either of those, talk to Planned Parenthood--well, as long as the idiots trying to shut them down don't succeed.

I don't give minors advice about sex, other than giving them options of people in their lives to talk to.

Totally agree, there are different types of questions that a teen will ask regarding sex, but, if they ask certain things i.e. how to pleasure their partner or how to give oral sex, I and any other adult on this is not going to advise them on how to do it but instead discourage them from doing such things and focus on being a teenager. Also its quite easy to spot out an underage person on this forum, especially with how they spell these days...

Sadly I have to disagree. The texting/chatting generation is passing the age of majority. There have been a few people who talk like teenagers but are in their early 20's. It is sad to be honest, but that is the state of things.

I personally think that the more information a teenager can get the better prepared they will be. They should know and be able to buy condoms and other types of birthcontrol. The problems is that many public school systems refuse to teach that or refuse to place the proper importance on those topics. I have seen the demonstrations and the bags of flour and the like and they don't drill the message in.

Just an opinion.

I also don't want to be libel for the damages, mental, physical, or otherwise, that could result from giving advice to minors. The internet is a big place and all the answers are there. Just need the courage to look. As well as not get distracted by porn.

Oh yes I agree that all teens should be sexually educated, don't get me wrong, but I would not educate them on how to act on sexual activity.

Yes the texting language drives me insane, I can't stand it, I didn't know my generation where doing it too LOL I always thought that the less I could understand the language, the younger the person was to my age.

Here is a thought for people who think we (AMHD) should give sexual advice to people under 18: At what age do you not give sexual advice to a minor?

If you give advice on sexual matters to a 17 year old, what about the 16 year old? What about the 11 year old who wants to learn to flirt to catch the eye of a 13 year old or the 13 year old who asks about things she can do to keep her boyfriend who is 18 interested in her (playstation and Xbox are not what she has in mind)? What about the 17 year old boy who wants to know how to get his 15 year old girlfriend to do sexual favors for him or have sex with him?

Teaching about buying condoms is one thing, but most of the sexually based questions I have seen from teens are about acts such as oral sex or and how to convince someone to play 'adult' games. I will not teach a 13 year old about hand-jobs.

Besides that... Who is going to differentiate a pedophile trying to get the confidence of a kid... minors are not adults... and when the supeonas fly and people get hauled to jail and court... I know I don't plan on being the one who tries to make that argument in front of a judge in a despirate attempt to avoid a "Sex crime offender" tag you would carry for life.

And quite honestly that line is pretty fuzzy. And moves depending on where you might be at any given moment but also where that kid might be at any given moment.

I have NO intentions of being the guy the day he goes into his new cell to meet a 7'2. 350 lb guy named Bubba that's rubbing his crotch saying "BEND OVER.......NOW!"

As a side note - because you've gone in another direction - a person posted today on a legal forum that she prays to God that something bad happens to someone who did her harm.

The advice is different and tempered and down-played on the Teen board. On the AS board, it is adult, perhaps graphic -- not information that minors need.
