    Math intermediate algebra problem
    A collection of nickels, dimes, and quarters amount to 10.00. If there are 140 coins in all and there are twice as many dimes as there are quarters, find the number of nickels

    Set up equations to help you.

    Let the number of nickels be represented by 'n', dimes by 'd' and quarters by 'q'.

    First statement tells you that:

    5n + 10d + 25q = 1000

    Second statement tells you that:

    n + d + q = 140

    Third statement tells you that:

    d = 2q

    Can you solve for n?

    Post what you get! :)
