    1098-T Question
    Hello,

So I got my 1098-T for 2010 from the university, and the amount shown on that was less than what I had paid for Spring 2010. When I called them, they said since I registered for one course in December 2009, that amount went on my 2009 1098-T! So only the amount for the second course shows up on my 2010 1098-T. My question is - How can I claim the education credit on the full amount for what I paid for Spring 2010. I did not claim any education credit in 2009 because I has a non-resident status. For 2010, my staus is resident.

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Sorry, but if you paid in 2009, it counts against your 2009 return, even though you CANNOT claim the education credit for 2009 due to your non-resident alien status.
