    On H1B married and spouse not in US
    I was in US for 7.5 months in 2010. My spouse was not there with me at that time. Now I am back in India and I am filing the tax returns. Need some clarifications on,

    1. what should be the tax filing status - single / married filing jointly
    2. what are documents to be produced for married filing jointly status ?

    Please note that my spouse will not travel to US and there will no SSN applied for.

    I was in US Jan-Feb 2010 and May-Oct 2010. Left in Nov
