Shakes, hunger etc? Hypoglycemia
I've suffered what I call the 'sugar shakes' for as long as I can remember, but I've always been able to live with it. I usually get attacks 2 or 3 times a month, usually close together.
It starts with a kind of burning sensation, then hunger kicks in, then I start sweating and get really shaky & find it hard to function. As soon as I get something to eat I feel better again - it makes me crave sweet foods when I don't normally have a sweet tooth. It can happen when I've had plenty to eat already - totally random. On once occasion I woke up with an attack after a big night out (too much booze!) & had to crawl to the kitchen. Last time I was at the docs I mentioned it but hadn't had an attack for a while. My blood tests were fine - but I've noticed the attacks are getting more aggressive - the last one my lips and mouth felt as if it had pins and needles I was pouring with sweat and felt all over the place.
I presume this couldn't be diabetes or my blood test would've picked it up? Is this hypoglycemia? Or does the timing of the blood test make a difference?
