Continuous clicking when key is turned on JD L130 23hp Vtwin riding mower
That's it, in the title. The battery charges up at 12.2V and all I get when I turn the key is click, click, click at a very fast speed. We tapped the starter, thinking it was going bad but the continuous click as long as the key is turned, continues.

    What could that be??

And, where can I buy a starter or solenoid for that tractor and have it delivered? I checked the JD web site but they don't sell those parts.

    Hi,
Battery is barely up to snuff (12.4V nominal) but try a AM 138068 or equivalent solenoid.
    Peace,
    Clarke

I agree with Clarke on the battery.
But check your positive and negative connections on the battery on the starter ,on the ground to motor, and on the solenoid.
Also on this engine they had problems with the bendix wearing and not kicking all the way up.
    Luck

Sounds like a terminal corrosion problem, disconnect all the connections for the starter selonoid and ground clean them with a wire brush and reconnect them, if the problem presists you may have a bad starter. Good luck
