My TV and avc system are both stuck in standby mode. I have checked the remote and that is OK checked all cables and switched on and off.

Question... if nothings working... how do you know the remote is OK? Did you put new batteries in it? I assume you unplugged both from the wall for about 5 or 10 minutes and plugged them back in already and its still stuck in that mode.

Is there a reset switch on the back of the set... it will be small and hard to see if there is.

Did some research on this... and there is no reset. And there are several possible sources for this problem... all of them requiring a qualified technician with the tools and documents to repair. Problem is that can easily excede the replacement cost of this TV.
