    DNA
My ex is saying I'm the father of her little girl she is 8mnths pregnant but doesn't want me in her life I was wondering when the baby's born if I can get a court order for a DNA test on her because I would take care of it if it is but it's not fair to me? And also would I need to get a lawyer for this?

There are variations among all the states, but generally speaking you can apply to the court for a DNA test after the birth, and they will make a determination whether to order it or not. You don't need a lawyer but it helps. If she doesn't want you in her life, you may have a tough time getting visitation enforced, even if you pay child support, which you will be ordered to pay. So be prepared.

You have to petition in Family Court to be named the legal father and get joint legal custody. The court will then order a paternity test to confirm paternity.
