    60's song---title? Artist?
Can anyone help me find the title of this song and the artist? The song is from the 60's.
The only lyrics I know are:
"A letter has come, a letter has come and now he must join the boys in Vietnam.....vietnam....vietnam."

"Oh he'll be coming home with victory in his hand and you'll be proud that he is your man."

    Thanks.

I am new to this site. I was shocked to see that someone else was looking for a song that I remember vividly from the mid to late 60's, I'd guess. I heard the song on WJMO-AM (AM 1490) an urban station (not given that PC correct characterization in those days.) The song might have also been played on WABQ in Cleveland. I remember that the song was done By a female, solo or group, and the line was just so catchy that I've never stopped thinking about it. I hold out hope that someone will be able to step up to the plate on this one. Thanks.

Dear Durkee--I don't know if you saw it, but someone did answer my question (This is really a good site.) The name of the song is "He'll be Back" by the Players. This was a Black group in the 60's, 70's . The high-pitched voice is a guy singing falsetto. I checked at Barnes and Nobles. The Players have a few CDs out, and this song is on more than one of them. My son downloaded the song from, I think, limewire. I also googled this song, and found that many people remember this song and its haunting melody. The internet is great and there are lots of sites with great information and memories! K. Engram
