    Tenent rights
I am a new tenent in a townhome in Boise, Idaho. I moved in and immediately I had a bad furnace, the took 3 days to fix it, it was a miserable freezing 3 days. The water heater was noted to have a major leak, he arranged to have it fixed. The plummers made one attempt to enter and fix the problem. They could not get in, the reported it to the landlord. The land lord forgot the problem existed. 30 days later the problem erupted into a major flood. I have possesiond that were destroyed by water, electronics, clothes, government issued gear was ruined by water(I am Military). I called the landlord, they got it fixed that next day. I asked about who was going to replace my stuff, 2 days go by no answers. I called the landlord again and got the excuse that I have to have renters insurance cover it! I cannot afford renters, it automatically would have increased my auto from 94 to 234. I have to pay a deductible of 500$. The land lord said that he would not do anything, he would see if the plummers' insurance would cover it. Has not called me back. I called him left a message again demanding an answer, no return call still. If he dmits fault then why should I be respocible for my ruined stuff?

What are my options? Small claims or?

Your best bet is to contact legal aid on base. As for your military gear, my husband, also military says to take the damaged good for replacement. The jag can contact the plummer for you instead of the landlord.
