I am 16 and I am wondering where I can find potential guardians for my unborn son. I am looking for someone to take over for about a year.. I don't think my family is an option..

Where are you sweetheart?
Sorry but that isn't likely to happen. If you put your child into the system it will be very hard to get him back. If you don't think you can care for your son, then put him up for adoption. Otherwise you will need to get family to help.
In Illinois
I spoke to a friend of mine in Illinois who is a lawyer and she is going to get some concrete information for me this week. I will be sure to pass it onto you as soon as I hear from her or her contact. What Scott was saying is scarily true for the most part hunny. If your aims are to work hard to establish some sort of security for yourself and your new baby over the course of the temporary guardianship period you would need to outline a clear list of goals and be able to show that you have satisfied them in order to regain custody. Legally speaking there isn't really a distinction between guardianship and custody and getting either back is going to need good supporting evidence. But if you are wanting to do this in order to focus on what you need to do for you and your baby that should be an excellent motivating factor to accomplish all you set out to do.
My recommendation to you though is to really think about stable possibilities within your family and possibly friend's families. Teachers/counselors you are close with-ect. There are a lot of not so nice placements out there and working within the system is a tremendous hassle; if you can avoid it I would.
Hang in there sweetie- everything will work out as it should.

I understand its just that the rules in this section are a bit stricter then those of opinion boards. Thanks for cooperating and please feel free to post. No offence taken.
Could you please direct me to where I can find a statement of rules that apply to various pages? As I am brand new to this forum I'd like to be sure I do not inadvertently violate any polices I am unaware of.
The Help link gives you most of the rules. There is also a FAQs page.
