Now I want child support from him and I need a paternity test done so how do I do all of this when he is out of state?

It does not matter whether he is in your state or not.You may file for your child"s benefit at any time..

Everything is of course, dependent on each state's statues. Parternity tests and child support issues beging with the Attorney Gerneral's office. If the father request a DNA test, he must pay for it. If he wants joint custody and meets the perceived needs of the child, it will be difficult for him to win because of his geographic location. Joint custody mostly infers little interference in the child's social, family and school activities. Not to be presumptious, but many fathers want joint custody because neither parent pays support. I should not have said that because mothers do it as well as often these days. Child custody laws have changed immensely since "Leave It To Beaver." As so have families life styles. As I have thus far advised to all is to Google your state's family statues, read them, try to understand them. They are the source of your answer. If you are worried and a little impatient, call your local AG's office and explain your situation. They are there to help you. You may also find their web site helpful as well. If you need internet access and don't have it, go to your local library. I've had to use mine on many occasions. Be Pro-Active. Stay 10 steps ahead with knowledge.

If he wants to prove paternity, he has to go to COURT.

If YOU want child support--you have to go to COURT.

If you apply for child support, then HE has the right to ask for a test. In many cases, he has to pay for it.

If he IS the father, then he CAN get visitation rights and probably at least partial custody.

I'm always amazed at the number of women who are willing to have SEX with a guy, but aren't willing to let him parent with her.

Here are the true facts. YOU need to file for child support in Indiana. He will then be served and will need to appear there. He will be able to request a paternity test, that may or may not be paid by the court. If he is determined to be the father, he will be required to pay support. He will get joint legal custody and visitation, but its unlikely he will get joint physical custody.

First off he took off on me and my daughter I'm here raising her all on my own and what is he doing to help? Nothing I have known the father for a while and I doubt he is going to step up unless he is forced to all he cares about is himself. I gave him a whole bunch of chances and look at what he did he lied to everyone about what happened and took off out of state

Have you gone to COURT to get support ordered? If NOT, then he doesn't OWE support. If he's not paying support and you don't have a court order for support, then it's YOUR fault he's not paying. If you DO have a court order and he's not paying it, contact your child support office and find out why it's not being enforced. He can go to JAIL for not paying COURT-ORDERED support.

If all he cares about is himself, why did you have sex with him? YOU are as much to blame in CHOOSING the father of your child as HE is for being a jerk. You had other options than parenting, so it's not anyone's fault but your OWN for being a single parent.

And I answered your original question: If you want SUPPORT, you go to COURT.

Many states have agencies to collect child support. Your state may be one of them. As Justv said, start with your AG's office. They will steer you in the right direction.

I loved him and thought he would be there for me I didn't think he was going to do something like that until after I had the baby any girl who is in love with a guy would think good of him until he goes and pulls a stunt like this and I plan on going to file for support when I tried last time they couldn't find him but now I have an address I only asked if it is possible to go for support and lets say I do and he says he wants a paternity test done... how would I do that when he lives out of state??

If he wants a paternity test, he has to do it through the courts. The COURT will order the test.

The other parent lives in gerogia n isn't it that only the father n child need to get the test done?

Paternity/child support are governed by the state law where the child lives in.

The agency can conduct a docket search, a lien search, can look for absent parents, can help in locating absent parents, can assist with reviewing existing orders of child support, and can help in enforcing old and new court orders. This agency has the ability to enforce interstate child support payments too.
